Web desk: Islamabad’s administration has declared August 13, Wednesday, a local holiday in the federal capital.
The announcement was made through a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon on Tuesday. The holiday will apply within the revenue limits of Islamabad Capital Territory, but offices providing essential services will remain open.
These are the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA) and ICT Administration. Additionally, the ICT Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and all hospitals.
The district administration has instructed the concerned authorities, ministries and institutions to sensitise their personnel. And ensure that the announcement is widely spread through the press and media avenues.

As Pakistan celebrates its 79th Independence Day on August 14, preparations are underway to mark the success of Marka-e-haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos in the entire country.
