Web Desk: Four terrorists were killed and two security personnel died during an intelligence-based operation near Kolpur in Balochistan province, security officials said on Friday.

Security forces launched the operation in the Spilanj area near Kolpur after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists at a hideout.

Officials said troops surrounded the suspected terrorist location and engaged in a heavy exchange of fire during the operation.

The firefight resulted in the deaths of four terrorists, while two security personnel were killed during the confrontation. Three other soldiers sustained injuries and were receiving medical treatment, officials said.

Following the encounter, security forces continued search efforts in the area to locate any terrorists who may have escaped during the operation.

Authorities said counterterrorism operations and intelligence-based actions would continue as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate militant threats.

Security forces frequently conduct operations in parts of Balochistan, where armed groups have carried out attacks targeting security personnel and infrastructure.
