Former Pakistan Captain Joins US Squad for ICC World Cup

Former Pakistan Under-19 captain Hassan Khan has been added to the United States squad for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series against the United Arab Emirates and Namibia.

Hassan Khan was included in the squad as a replacement for the injured Ali Khan. After captaining Pakistan at the 2018 Under-19 World Cup, this will be Hassan Khan’s first international opportunity. The team at that tournament also included Shaheen Shah Afridi and Musa Khan, who later went on to represent Pakistan in international cricket.

Born in Karachi, Hassan Khan began his cricket career in the PSL with Quetta Gladiators in 2017. He later moved to the United States and produced impressive all-round performances while playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket.

Across the last three MLC seasons, Hassan Khan has scored 609 runs in 32 matches and taken 24 wickets. He has also played in various franchise leagues, including the Big Bash League and the Caribbean Premier League.

In 2026, Hassan Khan returned to the PSL with Hyderabad Kingsmen and played an important role in helping the team reach the final. He scored 139 runs in eight innings and took six wickets.
