ISLAMABAD: Pakistani actress and model Hania Aamir has responded to recent criticism from veteran actress and former supermodel Jia Ali with a tongue-in-cheek post on Instagram.
Ali, speaking during a recent television programme, was asked to choose between Aamir and actress Dur-e-Fishan Saleem. She picked Aamir, praising her as an accomplished actress and describing her as “the face of Pakistan,” but said the star was becoming “out of control” and should be more mindful of her behaviour.
“Hania Aamir is an excellent actress and the face of Pakistan, so she should take care of her conduct,” Ali said, according to comments circulated on social media.
Aamir, who is known for her active presence on social media, appeared to address the remarks indirectly. She shared a series of photographs on Instagram with the caption: “Out of control ho gayi” — roughly translated as “I’ve become out of control.”
Although Aamir did not mention Ali by name, the post came hours after Ali’s comments began circulating online, prompting social media users to interpret it as a pointed, indirect response to the criticism.
