ECP Summons Sohail Afridi for Code Breach

The Election Commission today summoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in person in a case of violation of the election code of conduct.


The Election Commission has issued an interim order against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in a case of violation of the code of conduct.


The order states that a notice was issued to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to appear in person. Earlier, PTI leader Ali Bukhari appeared on behalf of the Chief Minister and requested an exemption in his personal capacity.

According to the order, the Election Commission granted Sohail Afridi’s request for exemption from appearance for one day. The next hearing will be held today at 12 noon.

On the other hand, the Peshawar High Court has accepted the petition of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi against the notice of summoning him by the Election Commission for hearing. The hearing on the petition of Sohail Afridi will be held in the Peshawar High Court today.
