DG ISPR’s address to students

Web desk: A recent speech by the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) to students in Azad Jammu and Kashmir has gone viral on social media.

The interaction took place on 15 September in Pallandri, where the DG ISPR answered questions from over a thousand students and teachers. Several clips from the session are now widely circulating online.

Responding to a question about the politics of protests led by the Awami Action Committee, the DG ISPR said that Azad Kashmir has a functioning political system which is working effectively.

He pointed out that education, health, and infrastructure indicators in the region are showing significant improvement.

On the matter of taxation, he explained that without tax collection, it would not be possible for the state to provide benefits and pay salaries.

He added that more than 30 per cent of AJK’s population is employed in government jobs.

Speaking about demonstrations, he remarked that protest is everyone’s right, but unrest damages the economy.

Highlighting the region’s natural blessings, he said Allah has gifted Kashmir with immense resources, and reminded the audience that the vision of Pakistan was closely tied to Kashmir.

The DG ISPR further noted that many officers and soldiers in the Pakistan Army come from Kashmir, reiterating: “Kashmir’s future is Kashmir banega Pakistan.”
