Senior Pakistani actress Atiqa Odho becomes emotional while recalling late director Iqbal Kashmiri
Veteran Pakistani actress Atiqa Odho became emotional during a television program as she recalled late filmmaker Iqbal Kashmiri and reflected on memories from their time working together.
Appearing as a guest on a recent TV show, Odho spoke about her acting career and shared memories from her past in the entertainment industry.
During the program, a clip from one of her old films directed by Iqbal Kashmiri was played, leaving the actress visibly emotional.
She said, “You’re going to make me cry by playing these songs because they remind me of Iqbal Kashmiri.” She recalled working with him in the films Jo Dar Gaya Woh Mar Gaya and Mummy, adding that although Mummy was not a commercial success, it left her with countless cherished memories.
Atiqa Odho further shared that she often joked with Iqbal Kashmiri during filming because she did not know how to dance. She said the late director had immense passion for acting and filmmaking and would personally demonstrate dance moves to teach her.
She added that remembering his passing still fills her with sadness, describing him as someone who had extraordinary dedication to his craft. Lamenting the current state of the film industry, she said it has become increasingly driven by money rather than passion.
