President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir, broke his silence over a letter attributed to him that has rapidly gone viral on social media, declaring it fake. Speaking exclusively to Kashmir Digital, Shah Ghulam Qadir clarified that he had neither written nor issued any such letter. He said the document circulating on social media was fake and apparently prepared with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
I Did Not Write Any Such Letter
Shah Ghulam Qadir denied reports circulating about a letter attributed to him, saying that no such letter had been issued by him.
He clarified that the document going viral on social media should not be considered an official or political position issued by him. According to him, the said letter is being circulated on social media by attributing it to him, which is not based on fact.
Fake Content Created Using AI
The PML-N Azad Kashmir president said that in the present era, it has become easy to create fake documents, images and statements using artificial intelligence and digital technology and present them as genuine.
He said that for this reason, it is not appropriate to consider every document or piece of news appearing on social media to be true without verification. He added that to ascertain the authenticity of any letter or statement concerning important political matters, verification from its original source is necessary.
Concern in Political Circles
Political circles are also expressing concern over the increasing use of fake documents and AI-generated content. According to experts, any important political statement, letter or document on digital platforms must be verified with its original source, the relevant personality or the institution concerned to avoid spreading fake content as fact.
It may be recalled that during his conversation with Kashmir Digital, Shah Ghulam Qadir completely denied the viral letter attributed to him, calling it fake and AI-generated, and said that he had not written any such letter.
