Punjab schools revise summer holidays 2025: classes 9, 10 to reopen on August 18

WEBDESK: The Punjab government has changed its earlier decision to extend summer holidays 2025 in schools across the province.

According to the Punjab Education Department, classes for students of 9th and 10th grade will now reopen on 18 August. O-Level, A-Level and Intermediate classes will also begin on the same date.

Classes from grade 1 to grade 8 will resume on 1 September. The new schedule applies to both public and private schools.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the change was made after consultation with education experts. He added that all schools in the province will reopen on 1 September for junior classes.

It is worth noting that on 7 August, the Punjab Education Department had announced an extension in summer holidays, moving the reopening date from the earlier 14 August.
