Lahore: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Technical Committee has rejected the appeal filed by Fakhar Zaman, an opener for Lahore Qalandars, against his two-match suspension.

Fakhar Zaman had challenged the match referee’s decision, but the three-member technical committee, comprising Professor Javed Malik, Dr. Mumriz Naqshbandi, and Syed Ali Naqi, heard the case and upheld the original ruling.

The committee maintained the decision of match referee Roshan Mahanama, who had imposed a two-match ban on Fakhar Zaman for ball tampering. He was charged under a Level 3 offence.

As a result, Fakhar will miss the upcoming matches, including Lahore Qalandars’ next game against Multan Sultans on April 3.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Fakhar violated Article 2.14 of Level 3 offences.

It is worth mentioning that during the March 29 match against Karachi Kings, Fakhar Zaman was accused of ball tampering while the opposing team was batting. The on-field umpires imposed a 5-run penalty on Lahore Qalandars and replaced the ball before the final over.
