The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA have strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks on Pakistan's border areas from Afghan soil and expressed solidarity with the Pakistan Army. Local residents came together from North and South Waziristan, Deir, Kohat and other affected areas to articulate their stand against terrorism. The public stated that cross-border attacks pose a serious threat to innocent civilians and the security of the area and that such measures cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Locals are calling on government and defense agencies to ensure public safety and to effectively prevent border violence. We strongly condemn these attacks, we need to protect our homes, land and children, said a local resident who strongly opposed the firing and attacks from the soil of Afghanistan. Others said they had seen kindness and hospitality towards Pakistan but still there were cross-border attacks that could not be tolerated. The public said that there may be external conspiracies behind such attacks and efforts are being made to spread chaos in the local society, so the whole nation must unite and face this threat. At several places, people raised slogans in favour of the Pakistan Army and expressed solidarity with the army. The statements also emphasized that any elements who conspire against Pakistan and its security institutions will be brought to a logical conclusion. At the same time, residents appealed that political leaders and the international community should pay attention to the situation to prevent border conflicts from turning into violence.
