The PCB has lodged a formal protest and captain Salman Ali Agha declined the post-match media duties in response.
Pakistan also cancelled Tuesday’s pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s fixture with the UAE, citing an overwhelming Indian media presence and the risk of further flashpoints.
Team management says the focus remains on cricket while the Board evaluates options.
Clash between ACC and ICC officials over removal of Pycroft
The PCB asked for action against match referee Andy Pycroft, but the ICC has reportedly rejected a request to remove him from the event.
The Asian Cricket Council, however, is reviewing the incident and considering disciplinary measures against Indian players, with fines viewed as likely.
Pakistan has also moved internally, initiating action against Director International Usman Wahla for failing to manage the handshake situation.
The Board’s message is simple. Sportsmanship is non-negotiable and protocol must be enforced evenly.
Press events trimmed; teams train at separate academy grounds
Both teams practiced at the ICC Academy on Tuesday on different grounds to avoid a repeat of Sunday’s scenes.
Tournament matches continue at Dubai International Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Stadium. If Pakistan does not boycott, the next assignment is the UAE clash today, September 17.
