Pakistan shuts airspace near India for two days

KARACHI: Pakistan has announced the temporary closure of parts of its airspace along the Indian border for two days. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to all airlines and aviation operators informing them of the restrictions.

As per the NOTAM, the airspace will be closed from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on October 28 and 29. Airlines have been advised to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution during the restricted hours. The suspension will apply for three hours each day over the two-day period.

The notification also specifies that certain flight paths within the Karachi and Lahore air traffic regions will remain restricted for commercial aircraft.

According to sources, the move is believed to be linked to ongoing Indian military exercises near the Pakistan border.
