Web Desk: Security forces killed two suspected terrorists and arrested two alleged facilitators during an operation in the Siah Chang area of Chagai district under the Radd-ul-Fitna III campaign, according to a statement issued on Thursday.
The operation began after security personnel received information about the presence of suspected terrorists in the area and established a checkpoint to intercept them.
According to the statement, troops signalled a suspicious vehicle to stop. The driver allegedly attempted to flee after seeing the checkpoint, prompting the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) personnel to pursue the vehicle.
During the pursuit, the occupants of the vehicle allegedly opened fire on security personnel. The forces responded, killing two suspected terrorists in the ensuing exchange of fire.
Two alleged facilitators were also taken into custody, according to the statement.
Security personnel recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from the vehicle following the operation.
The recovered items included an M16 rifle with two magazines, a 9mm pistol and a sniper rifle fitted with a scope.
Authorities also recovered 63 LMG rounds, a walkie-talkie set, three mobile phones and two bandoliers.
The security forces said the recovered weapons and ammunition were intended for attacks targeting civilians in Balochistan, including targeted killings and suicide attacks.
Meanwhile, security forces said operations against suspected terrorists would continue as part of efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent attacks.
Authorities said security operations would remain ongoing until the threat is eliminated.
