Islamabad: The driving license system has been made completely “paperless”; now citizens will only need to bring their original identity card to obtain a license.
According to details, IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has formally inaugurated the complete digitalization and paperless driving licensing process of the traffic police in the federal capital.
The aim of this initiative is to relieve citizens from lengthy paperwork and save their valuable time.
IG Islamabad and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk, while explaining the details of the new system, clarified that citizens will no longer need to bring any forms, photocopies, or passport-sized photographs. Citizens will only bring their original identity card and will be able to obtain a license.
He further stated that the entire process, from filling out the medical form to the issuance of the license, has now been computerized and paperless.
Special separate counters have been allocated at service centers for women and senior citizens.
On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi inspected all counters and appreciated the traffic police team for completing this project in a short time.
He announced that the license fee payment system will also soon be fully digitalized.
Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk chaired an important meeting with all in-charges of service centers, in which he issued instructions to ensure 100 percent implementation of this paperless system and to treat citizens with utmost courtesy so that a positive image of the police can be promoted.
