Containers have begun appearing across Islamabad as the capital’s police prepares for Jamaat-e-Islami’s long march on September 20 and PTI’s long march on September 27.

According to sources, the Capital City Police and administration have completed initial preparations in this regard. At present, 600 containers are available in the city, while the target has been set at 1,000 containers.

Containers have been brought to the areas around Islamabad’s entry and exit points, while the Red Zone entrance from D-Chowk has been completely sealed.

Sources also revealed that piles of soil will also be placed inside and outside the containers. More than 3,000 police personnel will be deployed for duty, while Rangers and the Anti-Riot Force will also be deployed.

Sources further revealed that security personnel will be called in from other cities after September 20. The daily rent for 40-foot containers is Rs20,000.

Security measures taken to stop the PTI long march on November 26, 2025, cost Rs170 million. The same amount has been allocated as the budget this time as well.
