PIA resumes Islamabad-Beijing flights

Web Desk: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed direct flights between Islamabad and Beijing on Oct. 30, restoring air connectivity between the two capitals and strengthening travel links between Pakistan and China.

Under the revised schedule, the national flag carrier will operate one weekly flight every Friday, offering passengers a direct travel option between the two cities.

The airline also plans to offer competitive fares and improved passenger services to attract business travelers, students and tourists.

Meanwhile, PIA has strengthened cooperation with three major Chinese carriers — Air China, Shenzhen Airlines and Hainan Airlines — to expand its reach across China.

The partnership with Air China will allow passengers arriving in Beijing to access connecting flights to other Chinese destinations, improving travel convenience and connectivity.

Furthermore, the arrangements are expected to strengthen PIA’s presence in the Chinese aviation market and create opportunities for additional passenger traffic.

The resumption follows years of disruptions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent travel challenges.

Direct flights are expected to benefit business travelers, students and diplomats while supporting growing economic cooperation between the two countries.

Additionally, improved air connectivity could facilitate trade, tourism and investment under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The renewed service and airline partnerships are expected to support PIA’s international operations while strengthening economic and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
