Web Desk: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared 99 housing and agro-farming societies in Islamabad illegal. The authority said the schemes lacked mandatory approvals.
Most projects are located in Zones III and IV. According to the CDA, developers marketed and sold plots without planning permission. The CDA Ordinance 1960 and ICT Zoning Regulations 1992 require such approvals.
The civic agency also ordered sponsors to stop advertisements, bookings, and plot sales immediately. In addition, officials warned citizens against investing in unapproved schemes.
“Only CDA-approved housing projects can operate legally in Islamabad,” the authority said in its notice.
The CDA named several major projects in the notice. These include Royal City Housing Scheme on Lehtrar Road, Japani Valley in Kirpa, Ghouri Gardens, and Satti Town. Simly Valley Phases I and II also appeared on the list.
Officials said these societies launched commercial activities without planning approval.
The list further includes Dhanyal Town, Ghakkar Town, Usama Town, Abdullah Gardens, and Canterbury Enclave near Park Road.
Meanwhile, the authority flagged Qurtbal Town on Islamabad Highway. Commoners Sky Garden in Flower Valley and Muzafarabad Town in Pind Begwal also came under scrutiny.
The CDA also identified Madina Enclave Phase-I, Star Villas Housing Scheme, and Saif Gardens near Ali Pur Farash for zoning violations.
Other projects on the list include Babar Enclave, Doctors Enclave, Green Avenue-II, Hammad Town, Marwa Town, and Media City-1. Paradise Point Housing Scheme also appeared in the notice.
Officials said these projects failed to meet legal planning and infrastructure standards.
The CDA further named Government Officers Cooperative Housing Scheme, Badar Farms, Green Field, and Shaheen Farms. Kohsar Enclave, Ali Town, and Green Meadows (North Ridge) also appeared on the list.
Authorities also listed Al-Rayan Society and Katsraz Villas in D-12 Shah Allah Ditta. Arcadia City, Aryan Enclave, Adil Valley, Adil Farms, and Al-Syed Avenue were also included.
In addition, the notice named Al-Rehman City View near Nilore and Al-Rehman Villas. Al-Huda Town, Ali Model Town, Asian Ranches Villas, Arsalan Town, and Abu Bakar Town also faced action.
Blue Enclave/Star Home, Burma Town, Bylee Town, Bara Kahu Enclave, and Bani Gala Hill View also appeared on the list. City View Nilore, City Town, and Capital Gardens were included as well.
Earlier, the CDA started sealing offices of several illegal housing societies. The authority also exposed fake approval letters circulating in the property market.
As a result, officials urged citizens to verify the legal status of housing schemes before investing.
The CDA said it will continue strict action against illegal developments across Islamabad.
