Web desk: To strengthen security across the country, the federal government has approved the recruitment of 3,229 new constables in the upgraded Federal Constabulary (FC).
According to media reports, the decision follows a presidential ordinance issued last month, which converted the former Frontier Constabulary into a full-fledged federal force with nationwide powers.
The step aims to improve internal security and enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies.

The government has set province-wise and area-wise quotas to ensure equal representation:
- Punjab: 20 per cent quota – 646 constables
- Sindh: 20 per cent quota – 646 constables
- Balochistan: 20 per cent quota – 646 constables
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 20 per cent quota – 646 constables
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK): 10 per cent quota – 323 constables
- Gilgit-Baltistan: 6 per cent quota – 193 constables
- Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT): 4 per cent quota – 129 constables
