Web desk: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed its squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, with star leg-spinner Rashid Khan named as captain. The team will be placed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong.

Among the selected players are Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Darwish Rasuli, Siddiqullah Atul, Azmatullah Omarzai, Karim Janat and the experienced Mohammad Nabi.

The squad also features Gulbadin Naib, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Mohammad Ishaq, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, AM Ghazanfar, Noor Ahmed, Farid Ahmed Malik, Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazal-ul-Haq Farooqi.

Before the Asia Cup begins, Afghanistan will take part in a tri-series against Pakistan and the UAE, which is expected to help the side prepare for the big tournament.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has already unveiled its 16-member team for the Asia Cup, scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 9. Their selection comes after a morale-boosting 2–1 home series victory against Pakistan.

Notably, wicketkeeper-batter Qazi Nurul Hasan has returned to the national side after nearly three years.

Both Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be aiming to make their mark in the tournament, with strong squads and renewed confidence heading into the Asia Cup.

The Bangladesh line-up includes Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Jaker Ali, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Saif Hassan, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Shaif Uddin, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam.
