PTCL issues official statement over internet connectivity issues in Pakistan

PTCL said it is experiencing data connectivity challenges and that technical teams are working to restore services as quickly as possible.

The company apologized to customers for the disruption.

Until the issue is resolved, users may face slow or intermittent access.

PTCL said further updates will follow and reiterated its regret for the inconvenience.

Why is PTCL down in Pakistan?

According to reports, a major disruption in internet connectivity throughout Pakistan, with the backbone operator PTCL being heavily affected.

As a result, overall national internet connectivity has dropped to just 20 per cent of normal levels.

“PTCL and Ufone services are currently facing data connectivity issues. Our teams are working diligently to restore services as quickly as possible. We apologise to our customers for this inconvenience,” said the PTCL spokesperson.

Recently, internet users in Islamabad experienced disruptions on Tuesday as services provided by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) went down in several parts of the city.

Reports of connectivity issues began emerging around 4:30PM, with social media users complaining about difficulty accessing the internet. Some also noted problems with mobile networks, including Zong and Jazz.

Customers facing connectivity problems are advised to contact PTCL’s helpline at 1218 or email care@ptcl.net.pk for assistance.
