Web Desk: Security forces killed 25 militants during targeted operations against militant hideouts in Kalat and Mastung districts of Balochistan on Saturday, the military’s media wing said.
The operations were carried out in the early hours of Aug. 8 under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna 3 following intelligence-based leads, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Security forces targeted hideouts associated with groups identified by the military as Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij in several locations.
In Marrap, Khaliqabad, 12 militants identified as members of Fitna al-Hindustan were killed during the operation, while three to four others were critically wounded, the statement said.
The hideout was completely destroyed during the operation.
Meanwhile, in Lehr and Pandaran, five militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij were confirmed killed, while one to two others were wounded. Security forces also destroyed the hideout, according to the military.
Another militant was killed in Jurr, Pandaran, with the body later being moved toward Lehr, Pandaran, the statement said.
In Khadkucha, Mastung, security forces killed seven militants and wounded two others, while the targeted hideout was destroyed.
Overall, the military reported 19 militants from Fitna al-Hindustan killed and five wounded, while six militants from Fitna al-Khawarij were killed and two wounded.
The military said further details of the operations would be released later.
The latest operations come as security forces continue counterterrorism operations under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna 3 across Balochistan.
