WEBDESK: Authorities in Murree have announced the closure of all schools for two days due to heavy rainfall. According to the CEO of the District Education Authority, schools will remain closed on Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20.
The downpour has caused rivers and canals in Murree to overflow. Water has accumulated in areas such as Kahuta GPO Chowk and Mall Road. Landslides in Galiyat have also forced the closure of the main highway connecting Murree and Abbottabad.
Officials have warned of a possible cloudburst in the region. The local administration has issued alerts for both residents and tourists, urging caution. The Deputy Commissioner of Murree advised the public to avoid rivers and canals during this period.
Heavy rainfall is expected to continue over the next 24 to 48 hours. Citizens are encouraged to follow safety guidelines and stay updated on weather alerts.
