All you need is access to a 4G or 5G internet connection on your phone, after which you can use it like a router for other devices.
But are mobile hotspots safe? Can they pose any risks?
It is worth knowing that a mobile hotspot is generally more secure than a public Wi-Fi connection.
With public Wi-Fi, your data could reach hackers, while mobile hotspots can become dangerous if the Wi-Fi password is not strong.
Unlike public Wi-Fi, you have control over a mobile hotspot yourself.
Generally, iPhones are more secure than Android devices because a password is required on each device to use the internet.
On Android phones, you can disable the password to make the login process faster, particularly to make it easier for family members to connect their devices.
However, doing so means you no longer have control over who can connect to your mobile hotspot.
In this way, hackers can gain access to data very easily.
Hotspots also use a security protocol called WPA, which encrypts data and helps keep devices secure.
