There is a possibility of foreign consultants being appointed to the Pakistan cricket team’s coaching staff.
According to sources, the PCB is currently in talks with former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait.
Sources say that the PCB is also negotiating with former New Zealand cricketer Martin Guptill. Talks are underway with Shaun Tait to take on the role of bowling consultant, while Martin Guptill is being considered for the responsibilities of fielding consultant.
Shaun Tait served as Pakistan cricket team’s bowling coach for one year from 2022 to 2023 and was also the coach of the Bangladesh cricket team until some time ago.
Sources said that it was not possible for Shaun Tait to make time for the responsibilities of a full-time coach across all three formats. He had decided to leave the Bangladesh team due to family commitments, which is why talks are now underway to include him as a consultant.
According to sources, there are strong chances of matters being finalized with New Zealand’s Martin Guptill.
Following the resignation of Ashley Noffke, the PCB has advertised a vacancy for the appointment of a bowling coach, while an advertisement for a fielding coach was also issued a few weeks ago.
Pakistan cricket team’s white-ball bowling coach Ashley Noffke has resigned from his position. Ashley Noffke had informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of his decision to step down from his responsibilities.
Sources said that the 2026 Asian Games will be Ashley Noffke’s final series with the Pakistan team, after which he will leave his coaching role with the national side.
According to sources, Ashley Noffke has been appointed head coach of the Netherlands cricket team, where he will coach the side in white-ball cricket.
Ashley Noffke has signed a two-year contract with the Netherlands Cricket Board, while the Asian Games will be his final assignment with the Pakistan cricket team.
