Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Courage chaired the 272nd Corps Commanders Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi. The meeting started with Fateha Khawani for the martyrs of the recent terrorist attacks, which were organized by Indian terrorist proxies. The Army Chief appreciated the spirit, determination and morale of the Pak forces, which emerged prominently during massive relief and rescue operations in collaboration with the civil administration and other law enforcement agencies in the aftermath of the war against foreign sponsored terrorists and recent floods. The forum provided a detailed overview of ongoing counter-terrorism operations, emerging threats and operational preparedness. The Forum reaffirmed its commitment that Pak forces are ever ready to thwart all sinister designs of enemies of Pakistan. The current nexus of terrorism and crime, which is undermining the security of the state and the people due to some political patronage, will not be tolerated. The Forum expressed serious concern over recent irresponsible and provocative statements by the Indian political and military leadership. Participants stated that this practice of India reflects a tendency to incite war frenzy for political purposes, which seriously threatens peace and stability in the region. The Conference made it clear that any aggression by India will be responded to promptly and decisively, so as to break the notion of any kind of security based on geography. The Forum appreciated Pakistan's recent high-level diplomatic efforts and reiterated its commitment to regional and global peace. The meeting welcomed the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which aims to further strengthen relations, promote multilateral cooperation and jointly respond to any external aggression. This agreement reflects shared values and vision for peace and security in the Middle East and South Asia. The Forum reiterated its commitment to unwavering support for the Kashmiri people's freedom struggle and stated that it was imperative to implement the UN resolutions to give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination. The meeting also reiterated solidarity with the Palestinian people and hoped for an early ceasefire and humanitarian aid to reach the people of Gaza. The Forum reiterated Pakistan's principled position on the two-state solution, saying that an independent Palestinian state, the borders of 1967 and al-Quds al-Sharif should be established as the capital. In the concluding remarks, the Army Chief instructed the Commanders to ensure the highest operational readiness, discipline, physical fitness, innovation and timely response. He said the Pakistan Army is fully prepared to deal with all conventional, non-traditional, hybrid and disproportionate threats.
