Police said they arrested PTI activist Falak Javed on charges tied to Pakistan’s cybercrime law (PECA).

Moreover senior journalist Hassan Ayub claims ‘Falak Javed arrested from Salman Akram Raja’s apartment in sector F-10 Islamabad’.

They alleged she used social media for illegal activity and evaded arrest.

Officials added that her sister, Sanam Javed, has spread “baseless” claims against government figures and state bodies.

The statement said the allegations amounted to propaganda aimed at undermining state institutions.

Therefore, police called for a full investigation into the sisters’ posts and accusations shared on social media.

They stressed that the law applies equally, regardless of political affiliation.

Rights advocates have urged due process and transparency in cybercrime cases.

Meanwhile, police said they would present evidence in court and seek further action if required.
