Syrian President, Ahmed al-Sharaa’s wife Latifa Al-Droubi has graduated from university at the age of 41.
She received a degree of Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Her husband also proudly attended the ceremony and posed with his wife for the pictures.
The first lady also posted her pictures on social media.
Earlier this year, the first lady met first lady of Turkey, Emine Erdoğan.
Before that she performed Umrah alongside her husband. It was her first public appearance.
In January 2025, Ahmed al-Sharaa was named president for a transitional phase.
Al-Sharaa pledged to embark on a political transition including a national conference, an inclusive government and eventual elections, which he has said could take up to four years to hold.
In May 2025, he met United States (US) President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the GCC summit in Riyadh. At the time, Trump confirmed that he would lift sanctions on Syria to give the country a fresh start after the fall of the Assad government.
