ISLAMABAD: Hassan Zahid, the alleged kidnapper of TikToker Samiya Hijab gets bail after social media influencer pardoned him.
The district and sessions court heard the bail plea.
During the hearing before Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Aamir Zia, the investigating officer, Muhammad Ishaq, informed the court that Samia had pardoned the Zahid.
However, the judge, directed that either the complainant herself or her family member should appear before the court to record a official statement.
The TikToker appeared in court after a short while and submitted her statement, confirming that the matter had been settled.
Samiya informed the court that “Our matter has been resolved. I withdraw my case. I have no objection to the accused being granted bail or acquittal.”
At this, the court granted Hassan Zahid’s bail against surety bonds worth Rs20,000.
TikToker Samiya Hijab earlier forgiven the alleged kidnapper, addressing allegations that she accepted money to withdraw her case against Hassan Zahid she said in a new Instagram video, that women often do not speak up because “In reality, girls don’t step forward because their wings are cut, and efforts are made to break them.”
She explained that the accused had been punished, but said values and morals guided her decision to end the matter after Zahid’s parents apologised to her.
According to Samiya, Zahid’s mother insisted she withdraw the case, saying, “You are like my daughter.”
“An individual’s mistake should not become a punishment for his family,” Samiya said. She added that Zahid had admitted his wrongdoing and she had withdrawn all allegations.
His mother had also requested that she give a statement in court, as the issue could not be resolved otherwise.
Samiya said the case ended with the assurance that Zahid would no longer threaten her or her family. She thanked the Islamabad Police, IG Islamabad, SHO Ishaq, and SHO Shafqat, along with the media outlets that “show the truth instead of lies just for TRP.”
Backstory
Samiya alleged that she was engaged to Hassan, but following his abusive behaviour, she declined to marry him. After refusing him, he gave her death threats and physically abused her many times.
She also posted a video of Hassan trying to kidnap her infront of her home.
In a video statement, the influencer said her life was in serious danger and appealed for immediate police protection.
Samiya said, “If I had been murdered like my friend Sana Yousuf, people would have shown sympathy, but since I’m alive, they are making allegations.”
She clarified that even if a woman is married, no one has the right to use force, violence, or attempt to kidnap her, and her relationship with Hassan Zahid had ended.
She added that she is under severe mental stress and urged people not to judge her without knowing the full truth, expressing hope for justice.
Later, Hassan got arrested by the Islamabad Police.
