Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), on the instructions of the Prime Minister, has made 7 more feeders in the province free from load-shedding.

PESCO Chief Akhtar Hameed said that PESCO’s operational teams are conducting actions against high-loss feeders. Load-shedding has been eliminated on the Gulbahar and Sikandar Pura feeders in the Peshawar circle.

He added that load-shedding has also been ended on the Muslim Abad and Sheikh Maltun feeders in the Mardan circle, while the Malakand, Dargai, and Thana feeders in the Swat circle have also been made load-shedding free.

The PESCO chief further stated that load-shedding has been eliminated on the Town-1 feeder in the Swabi circle as well. Earlier, PESCO had already ended load-shedding on 5 feeders. Over the past 3 months, 5,000 illegal connections have been disconnected across the province.

Akhtar Hameed also said that during these operations, 400 cases were registered, 67 individuals were arrested, and fines exceeding 10 million rupees were imposed.

He further stressed that the ongoing crackdown against electricity theft and non-payment will be pursued, adding that improved recovery rates and reduced line losses are key to ensuring uninterrupted power supply to more areas in the future.
