Kohat drone attack

Web Desk: The Pakistan Army shot down three drones in Kohat after terrorists attempted to carry out a drone attack in the city. The incident created panic among residents after loud explosions were heard in several areas.

According to security sources the armed forces used electromagnetic technology to bring down the three drones. Officials said militants linked to Afghan Fitna al Khawarij attempted to use the drones but security forces neutralized them before they could cause major damage.

However falling debris from the destroyed drones injured three civilians. Rescue teams quickly shifted the injured people to hospitals for medical treatment.

Health authorities in Peshawar also declared an emergency in hospitals to ensure immediate care for the injured.

Earlier residents reported drones flying in the sky above Kohat including one seen near Kachehri Chowk. Soon after the incident police and security agencies placed the city on high alert.

Security officials say Pakistan forces remain alert against any terrorist threat linked to groups operating from across the border. Authorities also warned that any terrorist attack in Pakistan traced to Afghanistan will receive a strong response. Security forces will target terrorist sanctuaries and support networks used by militants.

Investigations continue while authorities closely monitor the situation to ensure public safety.
