Web Desk: Google has introduced an advanced Autofill feature for its Chrome web browser on Android and iOS devices, expanding Google Wallet integration to help users complete online forms more quickly while maintaining control over their personal information.
The update aims to simplify everyday online tasks by allowing Chrome to securely retrieve information stored in Google Wallet and automatically populate compatible web forms.
Under the new feature, Chrome can access details saved in Google Wallet, including driver’s licenses, passports and other stored identification information, to complete online forms without requiring users to enter the information manually each time.
Google said users who have not yet saved these details in Google Wallet will be able to add them directly through Chrome, making future form completion faster and more convenient.
The company said the enhanced Autofill functionality will help users save time when checking flights, completing online registrations and performing other routine web-based tasks on smartphones and tablets.
The update also extends a more consistent Autofill experience across both desktop and mobile versions of Chrome.
Google emphasized that users will retain full control over their personal data. Chrome will only save or fill sensitive information after receiving the user’s permission.
The company added that sensitive data stored through the feature will remain encrypted to prevent unauthorized access. Users will also be able to review, update or remove their saved information at any time.
The rollout marks Google’s latest effort to streamline web browsing while strengthening privacy protections for users across Android and iOS devices.
