Web Desk: A statement circulating on social media has accused leaders of a banned group of orchestrating violence that culminated in the killing of Usman Sabir, while alleging that the group is attempting to shift responsibility through what it described as a false narrative.

According to the statement, the banned Awami Action Committee was responsible for an attack on the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot, including allegations of arson and attacks on security personnel. The statement named Umar Nazir, Sardar Aman and Shaukat Nawaz as being responsible for allegedly inciting supporters to take the law into their own hands.

The statement further alleged that the same group had previously attacked security personnel, abducted officials and damaged state property. It did not provide independently verifiable evidence to support the claims.

The statement rejected allegations that security institutions were responsible for Usman Sabir’s killing. Instead, it alleged that armed individuals linked to the banned committee, who were positioned on rooftops before the violence erupted, opened fire on civilians. It also claimed that witnesses and evidence exist to support the allegations, although no such evidence was presented.

Moreover, the statement accused the group of exploiting the incident for political purposes and attempting to evade legal accountability.

Representatives of the Awami Action Committee were not immediately available for comment, and authorities had not publicly released findings identifying those responsible for Usman Sabir’s death at the time of publication.

The circumstances surrounding the killing remain subject to official investigation.
