US report exposes India’s false May conflict narrative

ISLAMABAD: A new report submitted to the US Congress has undermined India’s claims regarding the May 2025 conflict, revealing that New Delhi distorted facts through its media to hide its setbacks. The report, issued by the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, directly contradicts India’s narrative and acknowledges Pakistan’s military success in the four-day clash.

According to the report, India attempted to use its government-aligned media to twist the commission’s findings, apparently in an effort to conceal what it described as a humiliating defeat. To shift attention, India also launched negative propaganda alleging Pakistan had relied on Chinese technology, a claim dismissed in the report’s assessment.

The commission’s document, presented before the US Congress, affirms that Pakistan secured victory over India in the four-day confrontation from 7 to 10 May. Despite the loss of its Rafale jets, India pushed a false narrative, but the US report laid bare those claims.

The report highlights that Pakistan used effective military strategy to achieve clear superiority, shattering India’s confidence in what many in Pakistan referred to as “Ma’raka-e-Haq”. Evidence, documentation, and global media coverage have consistently supported Pakistan’s version of events.

International publication TRT also reported that the US commission acknowledged Pakistan’s battlefield success in the May skirmish, reiterating that Pakistan prevailed over India between 7 and 10 May.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly acknowledged Pakistan’s victory and the downing of Indian aircraft during the confrontation.

The report concludes that Pakistan’s efficient use of weaponry dealt a decisive blow to India. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi’s government, already criticised previously for spreading misinformation against Pakistan, once again faces global embarrassment over its misleading propaganda.
