Web Desk: The Punjab government has launched the Chief Minister Climate Leadership Development Internship Program. The program will provide young interns with a monthly stipend of 60000 rupees.
Officials said the internship will last for three months. After completing the program participants will receive an official internship certificate from the Government of Punjab.
The program also promotes equal opportunities for women. Authorities have reserved fifty percent of the seats for female students.
The Climate Leadership Development Internship Program will also provide international learning opportunities. Participants may receive certification linked to UNESCO through the program.
In addition the interns will learn through a modern learning management system. They will also gain practical experience by working with the Environment Protection Authority and the Environmental Policy Unit.
The Punjab government has provided an online application facility for interested candidates. Young applicants can submit their forms through the official website epd.punjab.gov.pk climate internship section.
Officials said the deadline for applications is March 29.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed the participation of young people in environmental improvement efforts. She said young citizens can play an important role in protecting the environment through this program.
The government hopes that the internship will encourage youth to become future leaders in climate action and environmental protection.
