Oscars 2026,Javier Barden chants no to war

Renowned Hollywood actor Javier Bardem made a statement at the 98th Academy Awards that captured widespread attention.

The Spanish actor was on stage alongside Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, where the two were set to present the award for Best International Feature Film at the Dolby Theatre.

At the start of his speech, Bardem chanted “No to War” and “Free Palestine,” drawing loud applause from the audience.

He was also wearing two badges on his coat—one against war and another in support of Palestine—making his message even more explicit.

During this moment, Priyanka Chopra appeared to be smiling and nodding but remained silent.

The moment quickly went viral on social media, where users shared mixed reactions.

Some praised Bardem for his courage, while many questioned Priyanka Chopra’s silence.

Critics noted that as a global figure associated with humanitarian work, her lack of a clear stance on such an important issue was surprising.

Several users also pointed out that Priyanka has been working with UNICEF since 2006 and was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador in 2016, leading to expectations of a more explicit response.

It is worth noting that Bardem has previously spoken openly about the situation in Gaza and has called for international action on multiple occasions.
