Young generation graduating each year in Pakistan has outnumbered the number of jobs in the country. Unemployment is stressing the youth and job hunt is as tough as it was never before.
Amid these tough times, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a good news for the job applicants.
The provincial government has decided to make Associate Degrees candidates eligible for government jobs.
KP Minister for Education, Meena Khan Afridi made the announcement, stating that Associate Degree programs have been launched in more than 250 BS programs across the province.
He stated that only programs with declining student enrollment have been converted into Associate Degree tracks, while four-year BS programs will continue in fields where enrollment remains strong.
The minister said that the Associate Degrees will be awarded upon completion of four semesters (two years). As per the Higher Education Commission (HEC) policy, students may later convert or complete this degree into a full BS program at any college or university.
Moreover, Associate Degree holders will now be eligible for employment, as recommendations have already been forwarded to the provincial cabinet. He clarified that for any post requiring 14 years of education, Associate Degree holders would be considered qualified candidates.
Yesterday, the Directorate of Federal Government Educational Institutions announced over 200 new jobs for teachers, staff members.
As per details, the jobs announced are for the teaching and support staff positions in schools and colleges under federal government control.
The job vacancies are open to candidates from all provinces of Pakistan.
The teaching jobs positions are for Elementary School Teachers (EST) including (BPS-14) 121 for male and (BPS-14) 71 for female.
