Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan strengthens bilateral ties: PM Shehbaz

Iranian president visit to Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Iran’s success is our success, and Iran’s failure is our failure. Iran and Pakistan stand like brothers.


While addressing a joint press conference with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Prime Minister described Pakistan’s relations with Iran through a Persian verse. The Iranian President and other officials applauded the Prime Minister’s Persian poetry.


The Prime Minister said that he once again warmly welcomes the Iranian President and his delegation to Pakistan and prays for their success in the future.


Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which the Prime Minister said he once again welcomes his brother President Pezeshkian on his visit to Pakistan.


While speaking during the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Islamabad is a major achievement.


He also expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of thousands of people in Iran, adding that, “Alhamdulillah, we are sitting here today for a bright future.”


The Prime Minister expressed good wishes for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and said he assures that Pakistan will continue to play its important role. “We will continue to play our role until a lasting agreement is achieved. We pay tribute to the determination of the Iranian people.”


He said that the ceasefire and MoU were made possible due to the tireless efforts of Field Marshal Asim Munir, adding that Allah has been very kind in granting this success. “We had said we would do everything possible to stop this war.”


He said that the Emir of Qatar and the Prime Minister of Qatar fully supported this peace initiative. The Saudi Crown Prince and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also supported Pakistan’s peace efforts.


The Prime Minister said that Pakistan will promote cooperation with Iran in all sectors and that Iran will soon become a major economy. The Iranian President’s visit on Pakistan’s invitation is a matter of great happiness. “We are forever friends and brothers.”


He said that there should be no double standards in the world, and that certain mischief-makers did not want the MoU to happen. Iran trusted Pakistan’s mediation, for which he is grateful.


He added that there should be no double standards regarding ballistic missiles.

Afterwards, Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian began the press conference with a verse by Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Poet of the East.


President Pezeshkian said that relations between Pakistan and Iran are of a unique nature. The people of Pakistan and Iran share the same destiny.


He stated that Pakistan and Iran are “two bodies with one soul,” and that relations between Tehran and Islamabad will become even stronger. Pakistan is not only a neighbor but also a brother and a dear friend.


He further said that relations between Pakistan and Iran are distinctive, and both countries are partners in a shared future and destiny. The Iranian government and people are grateful for the support of the Pakistani government and people.


He added that they are thankful for the hospitality shown to the Iranian delegation in Pakistan. He is leading his delegation on a visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Iran acknowledges Pakistan’s important role in development and prosperity.


The Iranian President said that the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was made possible due to trust in Pakistan. Pakistan played an excellent role in the negotiation process.


Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which the Prime Minister once again welcomed his “brother” Pezeshkian on his visit to Pakistan.
