Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Pakistan and Iran enjoy a unique relationship and that both countries are not only neighbors but also close friends and brothers.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the Iranian President began his remarks with a Persian verse by Allama Muhammad Iqbal, highlighting the historical, cultural, and religious ties between the two nations.
He said that Pakistan and Iran share a common destiny and that their relations are based on mutual trust, respect, and cooperation. He added that both countries have a very important role in ensuring peace, development, and prosperity in the region.
He also said that the relations between Pakistan and Iran are not limited to the diplomatic level but are also deep at the public, economic, and cultural levels. He expressed the commitment that both countries will further expand cooperation in various sectors.
The Iranian President began his speech with Allama Iqbal’s Persian poetry, saying that Iqbal’s message continues to guide the region today and further strengthens the intellectual and spiritual bond between Pakistan and Iran.
He said that Pakistan and Iran play a key role in achieving lasting peace and stability in the region and must work together to face challenges.
He added that the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was made possible due to Pakistan’s trust and praised Pakistan’s excellent role in the negotiation process.
