Ducky Bhais' wife Aroob Jatoi gets major relief in gambling promotion case

Web desk: A sessions court on Wednesday granted interim bail to Aroob Jatoi, wife of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai. This bail was granted in a case linked to the alleged promotion of gambling platforms.

The judge barred authorities from arresting her until August 30 and ordered her to cooperate with investigators. The court also asked the investigating officer to present a progress report at the next hearing.

Lawyers Irfan Kalyat and Raja Abdul Rehman Ranjha represented her during the proceedings.

Meanwhile, her husband’s custody has been extended. A day earlier, a local court prolonged Saad-ur-Rehman’s physical remand for another four days after the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) sought more time for questioning.

He will remain with the agency until August 23. Ducky Bhai was taken into custody on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.

The case, registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, also carries charges of cheating and offering unlawful prizes under the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, several influencers promoted betting apps, including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365 and B9 Game, causing losses to the public. Investigators say they recovered WhatsApp chats and payment records from Rehman’s phone, linking him to gambling networks.

Online gambling is often viewed as a dangerous habit. It carries several risks, such as addiction, financial losses, scams, fraud, and little to no oversight.

Common red flags of problematic gambling include an uncontrollable urge to play, ignoring personal or work duties, trying to recover lost money through more betting, and behaving in a secretive manner.
