Jumanji 4

Filming for the highly anticipated Jumanji 4 has officially started. The latest sequel began active development in October 2024. Production kicked off in Los Angeles on November 11, 2025. The core cast is reprising their roles for the adventure.

The official Jumanji Instagram recently shared an exciting first image. It features Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. They are shown standing against a city backdrop. The caption reads, “Look who’s on the loose.” This photo strongly suggests their in-game avatars are now in the real world.

This development follows the ending of Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019. That film’s post-credits scene teased the game breaking out. A repairman accidentally triggered the game. This resulted in a herd of ostriches suddenly appearing in the real world.

The animals pose a problem, but the main avatars present even more chaos. These core characters were the in-game counterparts of Spencer and his friends. Now in the real world, their personalities and motives might differ from their real-world players.

Jumanji 4 confirms the return of two other avatars. Nick Jonas as Jefferson “Seaplane” McDonough and Awkwafina as Ming Fleetfoot are expected to appear. It is unclear if Rory McCann’s villain, Jurgen the Brutal, will return.

This sequel could mark the final Jumanji movie. Kevin Hart hinted at this possibility in March 2023. The real-world element represents the franchise’s biggest possible twist. It allows every character a core part in the final story. This offers a chance to resolve all lingering plot threads.

With the game’s elements now unleashed, Jumanji 4 promises a massive adventure. This latest image suggests a high-octane installment. The film has the potential to be the franchise’s most memorable. It could also provide a fitting finale for the long-running series.
