SIFC's success: Pakistan’s IT industry achieves global recognition

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s IT industry has reached a major milestone as local mobile application developers gain international acclaim, marking a new era of success driven by a supportive environment created under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

The country’s emergence as a regional hub for mobile app development reflects the remarkable progress of its IT sector. In 2024, Pakistani developers achieved a significant feat by successfully launching 1,053 mobile applications worldwide.

Of these, 764 apps were released on Android and 289 on iOS platforms, indicating a growing global demand for Pakistani-developed applications.

Pakistan has outpaced countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, and Egypt in the IT domain, securing a stronger position on the global technology map. The rising popularity of Pakistani mobile apps has also helped restore foreign investors’ confidence in the local market.

SIFC’s forward-looking policies continue to play a crucial role in accelerating investment and development within Pakistan’s IT sector, paving the way for sustained growth and innovation.
