PMDC MDCAT 2026

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has introduced new conditions regarding the entry test (MDCAT).

According to the council, biometric verification of students has been made mandatory for this year’s entry test. Additionally, students under the age of 18 have been directed to obtain a Juvenile Card.

PMDC has clearly stated that students who do not possess the required card will not be allowed to appear in the entry test.

Relevant authorities suggest that the new measures aim to boost transparency in the examination system and to eliminate fraudulent practices that have been reported in previous years. The move is part of broader reforms to enhance credibility and merit in entry test across the country.

The authorities have advised students to complete their documentation process well in advance to avoid last-minute issues.

They also advised parents to ensure that younger candidates apply for their Juvenile Cards on time so they can participate in the MDCAT without any hurdles

Earlier PMDC had made some important announcements regarding MDCAT 2026.

These updates are as follows:

  1. The exam is expected to take place shortly after FSc exams.
  2. PMDC has lowered the merit for private medical/dental colleges to fill vacant seats, aiming to assist students who narrowly missed earlier thresholds.
  3. Public notices have been issued regarding the NRE-Online Registration Portal.
  4. In late 2025, PMDC officially reversed its decision to raise passing marks, maintaining the 50% passing mark and 75% attendance rule for MBBS/BDS.
  5. The council has directed colleges to form anti-harassment committees, allowing students to report issues directly to the PMDC.
