Pakistani actress Hareem Farooq, speaking about conventional beauty standards, has urged her fans to accept themselves and their bodies and learn to love themselves.
Hareem Farooq shared a detailed post on Instagram in which she made it clear that a person’s beauty or worth cannot be determined by their physical appearance.
The actress said that stretch marks, acne scars, hair loss or weight gain do not reduce a person’s beauty or worth. The human body goes through different changes due to time, mental stress, trauma and illness, so it is not right to judge anyone based on their appearance.
Hareem Farooq said that a person’s true and deeper beauty lies in the love in their heart, their intelligence, purity of soul, the spark of hope in their eyes, the courage to face difficulties and the desire to become better every day.
Addressing her fans, she said they should accept themselves, embrace who they are and have confidence in their personalities, as these are the qualities that make a person beautiful both inside and out. The actress urged her followers to be grateful for their bodies, treat them with kindness and continue their journey towards a healthy lifestyle.
Hareem Farooq stressed that everyone has the right to live their life according to their own wishes and that no one’s body should become a subject of public debate or other people’s comments. She said people should not be judged according to standards set by others based on their clothes, age, physical changes, recovery or life decisions. Instead, every individual should have the freedom to live their life according to their own identity and choices.
Hareem Farooq has spoken out against criticism of body shape in the past as well. In 2024, while discussing losing weight for her role in the drama ‘Bismil’, she said that instead of losing weight through a crash diet, she decided not to do so.
Hareem Farooq herself has also faced criticism over her physical appearance in the past. In 2021, an inappropriate joke made about her by actress Faryal Mehmood during a television programme also became a topic of discussion.
In the past, Hareem Farooq has also spoken about her journey towards adopting a healthy lifestyle and described maintaining her health as a positive and worthwhile challenge.
