New Zealand post study work visa

New Zealand has issued new and clear guidelines regarding the Post-Study Work Visa for international students, allowing Pakistani students to benefit as well.

The move is being seen as an important development for students completing their education abroad, as it not only provides professional experience but also creates opportunities for permanent residency.

According to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment in Islamabad, Pakistani students are eligible to apply for this visa if they have recently completed a degree or course from a recognized educational institution in New Zealand. Under this visa, successful applicants are allowed to live and work in New Zealand for up to three years.

The visa also offers a potential pathway to permanent residency, which is considered a major opportunity for students. Applicants must have completed their studies and submit their application within the specified time frame.

As per the rules, applications are generally required within three months of the expiry of the student visa, while PhD graduates are given up to six months.

Similarly, students who pursue additional short-term study after their first eligible qualification may be granted up to twelve months to apply.

Applicants are also required to show proof of at least 5,000 New Zealand dollars for initial living expenses in New Zealand to ensure financial stability during their stay.
