Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Quaid-i-Azam University on Monday, where he was warmly received by the vice chancellor, faculty members and students.
During his visit, Naqvi attended a traditional dance event organized by the university’s Pashtun Council. He joined Pashtun students in performing the traditional “Attan” dance, showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage of the community. Students spent time with the minister, sharing stories and cultural experiences.
Promoting Youth Engagement
Speaking informally with students, Naqvi emphasized the importance of education and positive activities for young people. He said, “Youth are Pakistan’s pride, and the nation’s strength lies in its cultural unity. Pashtun culture holds a unique place in the world.” He expressed his delight at attending the event, noting that such gatherings foster closeness, mutual respect and brotherhood among communities.
University and Administration Officials Present
The vice chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, along with the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, were also present at the event. Officials highlighted the significance of cultural programs in promoting understanding and engagement among students from diverse backgrounds.
