Faisalabad’s Hira Qaiser won the second season of Pakistan Idol, securing victory in the final held on Sunday.
Hira Qaiser, who belongs to a middle-class family, won the title after giving outstanding performances throughout the competition and winning the hearts of both the audience and the judges.
Speaking to Geo News, Hira said that she would now fulfill her dreams and that her success had been made possible by the prayers of her parents and family.
Speaking to the BBC, Hira said, “My entire family supported me throughout this journey—my mother, sisters and husband. Initially, my brother had some reservations, but later he also started supporting me and told me, ‘You will win this competition.’”
She said that everything she knows about music came from her father, Qaiser Ali, who passed away eight years ago.
Hira revealed that she studied until the eighth grade and got married in 2013.
As for the prize money, the singer received Rs1.5 million (15 lakh rupees) for winning the competition.
Regarding the prize she received for being declared the winner of Pakistan Idol Season 2, Hira said, “I will receive Rs1.5 million as prize money. From the very first day, I had decided that if I won this competition, I would use the prize money to build a roof over my children’s heads.”
