World leaders Trump and Putin are expected to meet soon.
The two will talk on the Russo-Ukrainian War matter, however, the officials from Ukraine will not be included in the talks.
However, according to some reports, President Volodymyr Zelensky could be involved in some way.
The White House earlier this week said that Trump was open to meeting both Putin and Zelensky.
European allies have rallied behind Ukraine in a renewed surge of support, insisting that any peace talks with Russia must include Kyiv.
Zelensky has said any agreements without Kyiv will amount to “dead decisions”.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron also spoke earlier in the day and promised to find a “just and lasting peace” in Ukraine, pledging “unwavering support” for Zelenskyy while welcoming Trump’s efforts to end the fighting, according to a spokesperson for Downing Street.
Details of meeting between Trump and Putin
President Trump and President Putin will meet on Friday (August 15) in Alaska.
The first time the two leaders held face-to-face talks was on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, in 2017. Both sides said they talked about a wide range of topics, including Russia’s alleged meddling in the US election.
The two also met in 2019 at the G20 summit in Japan, where, in front of reporters, Trump told Putin with a smirk: “Don’t interfere in the election.”
The summit in Alaska, the territory which Russia sold to the US in 1867, would be the first between sitting US and Russian presidents, since Joe Biden met Putin in Geneva in June 2021.
