KP Reshuffles Administrative Structure Across 12 Districts

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the establishment of an Area Development Secretariat to ensure effective administration, better coordination among government departments, and continuity of public services across the province.

According to the notification, the Area Development Secretariat will serve as an administrative forum for 12 districts designated by the provincial government. It will be headed by the Additional Chief Secretary, who will serve as its administrator.

Under the new administrative arrangement, a total of 30 officer positions will be temporarily transferred from various provincial departments to the Area Development Secretariat. These include five special secretaries in Grade 20, 10 deputy secretaries in Grade 18, and 15 section officers in Grade 17.

The officers will be supported by the relevant office, ministerial and auxiliary staff to ensure the smooth functioning of official affairs, administrative support, and the fulfilment of government responsibilities without disruption.

According to the notification issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the arrangements will take effect immediately and remain in force until further orders.

Under the new administrative system, the performance of government departments, implementation of development projects, and law and order situation in the relevant districts will be monitored. The initiative will also focus on improving public service delivery and expediting administrative decision-making.

The development comes amid emergency administrative measures and the establishment of a new government structure in designated districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
