Google Chrome Introduces New Feature to Protect Users

Google has introduced a new feature in its Chrome web browser to protect users.

Under the feature, the web browser will alert users before they open potentially dangerous websites.

The alert will be generated through Chrome’s two-page system, which was introduced in the browser in 2024 for file downloads.

The system displays different warnings for files during downloads, including labels such as “suspicious” or “dangerous.”

Chrome will flag a website as suspicious when its system detects similarities with websites associated with scams or malware.

Google said users should visit a website after receiving such an alert only if they are completely confident that it is safe.

According to Google, users should exercise caution when dealing with warnings about dangerous websites, while they should completely avoid visiting websites flagged with high-risk user harm warnings.

The two-warning design aims to help users distinguish between different levels of website threats.

On desktop and mobile devices, alerts about suspicious websites will appear as pop-ups in the Chrome browser and will include a “Mark as safe” option.

Warnings for more dangerous websites will be much harder to dismiss and will cover the entire screen.

Google is also improving fraud detection with the help of Gemini, although full details of these improvements have not yet been disclosed.
